Caltria ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Caltria mobile application, a calorie and nutrition tracker.

1. Data Controller

Caltria is a mobile application operated by CF Labs.

For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP), Caltria acts as the data controller.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, you sign in with your Apple ID (Sign in with Apple). We collect:

• A unique user identifier
• Your email address (or Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide your email)
• Your name (if shared)

You may also use Caltria as a guest with an anonymous session, in which case no email or name is collected. Your account is part of the CF Labs app ecosystem, so the same sign-in also works with our companion apps Pantral and Fodes.

2.2 Food Log and Nutrition Data

To track your intake, we collect and store:

• The foods and meals you log (name, portion, meal slot, and time)
• Calories and macro and micronutrient values for those entries
• Your daily water intake
• Your weight entries, if you choose to log them
• Your nutrition goals and targets

This content is linked to your user identifier so your log and progress stay available across sessions and devices.

2.3 Barcode and Product Data

When you scan a barcode or add a product, we store the product's barcode and nutrition details in a shared product catalog so it can be recognized faster next time. If you add or upload a product photo, that image is stored with the product.

2.4 AI Food Estimation and Chat

When you use the AI features to estimate a food or ask a question, we collect and store:

• The food descriptions, photos, or messages you send
• The AI-generated estimates and responses

This content is linked to your user identifier and used to provide the feature and audit AI usage.

2.5 Device Information

We register the devices signed in to your account (a device identifier and platform) to keep your data in sync across them.

2.6 Feedback Information

If you voluntarily submit feedback, we collect:

• Your feedback message
• Feedback type
• Your user identifier

This information is stored securely in our backend database.

2.7 Diagnostics

The app may collect crash diagnostics through Apple to help us fix stability issues. We do not use third-party advertising analytics and we do not use advertising identifiers.

3. AI Processing

Caltria uses AI to estimate foods and answer nutrition questions. When you use these features:

• Your food descriptions, photos, or messages, together with relevant context (such as the item you are logging), are sent to our secure backend.
• Our backend forwards this content to AI model providers — Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini) — to generate the estimate or response.
• These providers process the content as our service providers under their API terms and do not use it for advertising.

Do not include sensitive personal information in AI messages that you do not want processed by these providers.

5. Companion Apps

Caltria is part of the CF Labs ecosystem. If you use or link our companion apps, limited data may be shared to power connected features:

• Nutrition intake and goal snapshots from Caltria (for example calories and protein logged today) may be shared with Fodes to personalize meal planning.
• Pantry contents from Pantral may be read by Caltria to help you log what you have.

This only happens if you use or link those apps.

6. No Tracking

Caltria does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, does not use advertising identifiers, and does not sell your data. Our Apple privacy manifest declares no tracking.

7. Legal Basis for Processing

We process data under:

• Contractual necessity (providing tracking, account, and sync features)
• Legitimate interest (improving and securing the app)
• User consent (feedback submission, linking companion apps)
• Compliance with legal obligations

8. Data Storage and International Transfers

Data may be processed in:

• The European Union
• Switzerland
• The United States (via third-party cloud and AI infrastructure)

Where required, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) are applied.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

• Account and log data: retained as long as your account exists
• AI estimation logs: retained for a limited period and pruned automatically
• Local data: remains on your device until deletion or app removal

You can delete your account directly in the app (Profile > Account), which removes your account data from our backend. You may also request deletion at any time by email.

You have the right to:

• Access your data
• Request correction
• Request deletion
• Restrict processing
• Object to processing
• Data portability

Caltria is not directed to children under 13. Users under 18 should obtain parental permission before making any purchases.

12. Health & Nutrition Disclaimer

Caltria provides nutrition tracking and AI-generated food estimates for informational purposes only.

Nutrition values and AI-generated estimates may be inaccurate or incomplete. The app does not provide medical, nutritional, or dietary advice.

Users are responsible for:

• Verifying nutrition and ingredient information
• Checking allergens
• Consulting healthcare professionals where appropriate

We do not guarantee the accuracy of any nutrition data.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time.
